Please note for June 24, 2012 there will be no Interpreting or Auslan sermon at North Rocks.

At North Rocks at Night we are doing as much as we can to make Deaf and other Auslan (Australian Sign Language) users feel welcome at our church.

This includes many people in our church learning Auslan so that Deaf and Auslan users can have lots of people to chat with in their own native language.

Things we currently have running:

Deaf / Auslan sermon:

On the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, just before the sermon starts in the hearing church (after food break) all the Deaf and Auslan users leave to have the same sermon signed fully in Auslan. This allows the sermon to be preached at a better pace to match Auslan. No interpreters going very quickly trying to keep up with hearing pastors. No hearing jokes that don't make sense in Auslan. No audio background to make watching the sermon distracting.

Interpreting:

Every Sunday night 6pm the entire service is interpreted into Auslan, including excellent bible teaching by our well trained pastors.

Deaf Bible Study:

On Tuesday night 7:30pm in North Rocks, this is a small group that meets together to discuss in depth what the bible means, and how we can change our lives to better match what God wants for us. The night is completely in Auslan
